GRENACHE BLANC
Leeuwenkuil Grenache Blanc 2016
TROPHY WINE SHOW TROPHY WINNER 🏆
We are incredibly honoured to share that our Leeuwenkuil Grenache Blanc 2016 has been awarded the Trophy for Best Museum Class Niche White Wine at the 2026 Investec Trophy Wine Show, achieving an outstanding 96 points.
A wine that has matured beautifully over time, this accolade is a testament to the remarkable ageing potential of Grenache Blanc.
The 2016 vintage was a warm and dry, but healthy growing season. Lower yields and smaller berries contributed to a good concentration of fruit flavours. After handpicking the grapes, they were whole-bunch pressed to retain their natural acidity. Half of the wine was fermented in 5 000 l French oak barrels and the other half in stainless steel tanks and aged for 7 months before bottling.
Tasting notes │ Fragrant notes of jasmine lead to poached pears and honeydew melon on a fuller-bodied palate. A subtle wine, it has pleasantly zingy green apple acidity that brings freshness and a distinctive minerality to the finish.
Drinkability │ Shows great development yet remains surprisingly fresh. Will continue to age well for another 4 – 5 years.
